Arik Kilman - Chief Executive Officer

 

As the Chief Executive Officer plus principal shareholder of BluePhoenix, Mr. Kilman with his considerable experience and the ability to turn strategy and vision into quantifiable results is responsible for the overall activities of the company.

He also ensures that BluePhoenix has exceptional technology and operational talent delivering end-to-end solutions to global 1000 clients. Mr. Kilman brings to BluePhoenix over 25 years of management experience, including international acquisitions and strategic planning in both private and public companies.

Mr. Kilman served as president and CEO of BluePhoenix Solutions B.V. since its inception in October 2001, following an acquisition of a Level 8 Systems business unit. Despite an unfavorable business climate, Mr. Kilman was able to deliver increased profitability. In early 2003, Mr. Kilman drove the merger between BluePhoenix Solutions and Crystal Systems, a public company that delivers legacy integration solutions, and formed the market leader in Enterprise IT Modernization.

Prior to BluePhoenix Solutions, Mr. Kilman was Chairman and CEO of Level 8 Systems, which provided products and services in the Enterprise Integration market. During his tenure at Level 8, Mr. Kilman guided the company through two acquisitions, driving revenue growth from $10M to $85M. Mr. Kilman has a BS in Computer Science and a BA in Economics, both from the New York Institute of Technology.

 

 

Nir Peles - Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Peles became the Chief Financial Officer of BluePhoenix in May 2010 and is currently responsible for the company’s finance organization.

Between the years 2007-2010, Mr. Peles served as a Business Development Manager at Shiraz Investments, a privately held investment company. Prior to that Mr. Peles held senior management positions at the BDO Consulting Group, one of the largest corporate finance advisory companies in Israel, and SYS LTD, an Israeli business consulting company.

Mr. Peles holds a BA in economics and accounting from the Hebrew University, an MBA from Tel Aviv University and MA in Law from Bar Ilan University. Mr. Peles is a certified public accountant in Israel.

 

Avishai Shafir - Vice President Marketing

Mr. Shafir joined BluePhoenix in 2007 with more than 15 years of sales and marketing experience within the software industry. Mr. Shafir is responsible for defining and executing the company’s worldwide marketing strategy and programs, as well as directing channel marketing, marketing communications, and public relations.

Prior to BluePhoenix, Mr. Shafir was the Director of Marketing for Magic Software (NASDAQ: MGIC), where he was responsible for marketing strategy, customer retention program, sales and pre sale methodology and training.

Mr. Shafir holds an MBA from the College of Management in Rishon Lezion, and B.A in Business Management and Marketing from Bar Ilan University in Israel.

 

Greg Schottland - General Manager, Legacy Modernization Division

Greg Schottland has over 20 years of high-tech industry experience. Prior to his role as General Manager for the Legacy Modernization Division Greg was the VP of North America Sales for BluePhoenix and ASNA.

Mr. Schottland joined BluePhoenix through the acquisition of CodeStream (formally Xitec Software) where he served as President. Greg also founded and led Advanced Software Technologies, an object-oriented software design tools provider. Greg has worked for Bell Laboratories, Lockheed Martin and IBM in both technical and business related positions, enabling him to bring both a strong background in software development and technology, along with a sharp focus on the business realities of building and growing successful technology companies.

Mr. Schottland holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois and a B.S. in Business from the University of Colorado.

 

Spencer Clarkson - General Manager, Professional Services Division 

Mr. Clarkson joined BluePhoenix in 1995 and held numerous positions of both a technical and managerial nature within the company working in many locations in Europe and the United States. He has more than 21 years of experience in executive and technological management roles including Product Management and Consulting Services. Mr. Clarkson is now responsible for BluePhoenix’s Professional Service division, which provides customers best of breed consulting services and outsourcing solutions. This includes BluePhoenix AppBuilder line of business. 

Prior to joining BluePhoenix, he held a number of technical positions at Friends Provident, a large Life and Pensions company in the UK.

Mr. Clarkson holds a joint honors degree in mathematics and computer sciences from Liverpool University

 

Nir Lavion - General Manager, Knowledge Management Division

Mr. Lavion joined BluePhoenix following the acquisition of DSKnowledge in 2010, where he served as the CEO. Mr. Lavion has more than 25 years of experience in the Information Technologies industry, international business development and professional services. Mr. Lavion is responsible for BluePhoenix's Knowledge Management Division, which offers a Knowledge Management platform to contact center agents and end-users.

Prior to BluePhoenix, Mr. Lavion was the Wintel Division Manager at Team Computers and systems and a Co- Founder and CEO of the We! Consulting Group.

Mr. Lavion holds a BA from the University of New England.

 

Yael Peretz - General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Ms. Peretz has been with BluePhoenix since 2000, and is responsible for all legal activities related to corporate transactions and ongoing business. Before joining BluePhoenix, Ms. Peretz worked as Associate Attorney at Shine, Hunter, Martin & Co., a global law firm.

Ms. Peretz holds an LLB degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Tel Aviv University. Ms. Peretz is a member of the Israel Bar.
