What Our Clients Say About Our Application Remediation Solution

Hugo Marien, Application Manager, Fortis Bank
"With many mission-critical IT systems to standardize, the project was very complex and time critical, but BluePhoenix performed it within the planned time span using their analyst-friendly screens to control the automated process. They made the required changes and ensured that they did not conflict with any other program component. The end result was that conversion is now almost fully automated at an exceptional level of accuracy, greater than 95%."

 Application Remediation

Today’s IT environments need to be dynamic and flexible in order to conform rapidly to changing standards, ongoing regulatory changes, and new business requirements. Change comes quickly, often necessitating adaptations that need to be applied across multiple, interconnected systems. Due to the pervasiveness of such changes, some companies choose to “guess” at the impact, an inherently costly and risky choice.

BluePhoenix offers a cost-effective and time-saving option—a set of “enterprise IT remediation” solutions that enable companies to extend the life of their existing IT systems when faced with demands for enterprise-wide changes. Our integrated solutions help companies quickly and automatically implement complex, mission-critical system modifications.

These application remediation solutions are based on the ability to take a collection of field names based on explicit specifications or patterns and determine—via data flow analysis—all of the fields that are impacted by the fields selected. This analysis is extremely powerful and can analyze across programming concepts such as redefinitions, name changes caused by actual to formal parameter mapping in procedures and methods, and reading and writing of files.

Additionally, these solutions track all program changes as a “fix set,” allowing changes to be checked before implementation as well as allowing fixes to be reapplied to a refreshed code base containing ongoing development and maintenance changes, thus minimizing freeze time.e
